This is our second one in 4 1/2 years, all our babies have loved this and our now toddler still needs it to fall asleep. I love that I can hook it to the stroller/car seat/wear on wrist when carrying my baby around trying to get her to fall asleep. This is the only thing that has helped sooth our babies to sleep at night, highly recommend getting yourself one for your littles.Got as a gift when 7 year old was a baby and now he still has it in his bed plus 3 year old that shares room has one. They go to sleep with them on, I make sure to reset the 45 mins after I lay with them, and they can turn them on themselves now if they wake up in the middle of the night.Like the small size that’s easy to travel with and they enjoy having the comfort of home with same ocean waves noise.The music box comes out so I machine wash and dry the outside sheep every few weeks with their other stuffed animals (on sheets day when I remember!) and they’ve stayed together so far.We are on our second sheep for the older, ordered two new ones when brother wanted his own. Surprisingly I can’t even remember the last time I changed the batteries despite nightly useI use this for each sleeptime and it is perfect. I like all the different sounds to choose from.So we just went through colic and the dreaded 4 month sleep regression phase. When we moved our baby to her own room around 3 months, we put a floor fan in there for white noise. Her wall is right next to our TV room, her brother is next door and a loud 2 year old, and her big window is right on a busy street. And she was never a really good sleeper. While for some babies (lucky lucky parents) a sleep machine is all you need - for us we knew it was just a stress-reliever for us, so that we wouldn't have to worry that noises were interfering with her sleep. (We could tick that item off the list and move on.) The fan was just way too cold.So I purchased the sound machine (marpac 980a, see other reviews) and this sheep. I got this sheep for the car actually, as one other reviewer had mentioned it helped their baby not scream in the carseat.After looking at both (the marpac and the sheep) - the marpac ended up in her room for consistent white noise all night, and the sheep went in the car. I didn't want to worry that the timer function was the reason for poor sleep (ie when she wakes up at night, she can't go back to sleep because the sheep is no longer on - tick another thing off the list!) The sheep is really soft.Unfortunately, the sheep did not keep her from screaming in the car seat. However - it is great for me! It is now in our bedroom, hanging next to the bed - and it has been FANTASTIC for me - as sleep deprived as I have been, it is often really hard for me to get back to sleep after getting up to feed or tend to her or my son if he's sick and really needs me in the middle of the night. Had tried muscle relaxation, all that other stuff that I usually don't need, but it wouldn't work. Have used a sound machine in the past (not the marpac) and hated it. The ones I have tried before all sound tinny or annoyingly inconsistent. The rain setting on this sheep, and the timer are perfect for me - have no trouble falling back to sleep at any time.Thank you sleep sheep!!!!!!!I love sleep sheep bc my kids fall asleep fast with it. The hook and loop option helps it stay where you want it and the timer is great! However, the sounds from the one 9 years ago were more soothing. The new ones rain and whale sound's frequencies are harsher.I received one of these as a gift from a friend who felt sorry for me when I told her my newborn daughter wasn't sleeping in her own crib very well. The first couple of nights it seemed to help somewhat, then she went back to normal. What I did was "train" her to associate the sound of the ocean with comfort by playing it when I was nursing her laying next to her in bed for a week or two. Since then it has worked wonders! At first I toted the one back and forth from daycare and home. I forgot to take it to daycare a couple times and they said they could definitely tell a difference in trying to get her down for naps. So I ordered a second one to leave at daycare. At home, if she is tired and cranky but has just eaten, I will use it to get her to sleep. Sometimes it is almost like magic, turn it on and cuddle her a bit and she is out! Other times it still takes a bit to get her to sleep, but does seem easier with this than nothing. I have also played the ocean sound while she is napping so I can vacuum without her waking up.That being said, I am starting to question the quality of the materials. On the first one I got, which is about 3 months old, the seam on the sheep's belly is starting to come open, like it is a very thin and easily torn material. Also, there were a couple times that it turned off while I was adjusting the volume button, even though it had fresh batteries. Even with these concerns I can still use it with great success, but am afraid I will have to replace it at some point.I really wanted this to be as good as the reviews stated. It's a good concept, but in reality it's impractical. The sound box is far too clunky for the pocket and keeps slipping out of the side. I also find it irritating that you can't have the sound playing continuously as for some babies you need constant white noise to help them stay asleep. It's also not loud enough for when we're out and about, which defeats the purpose of having this one. I wish they'd also replace the fastener with a clip button - Velcro is loud when you undo it so there's no option of moving the sheep if you transfer the sleeping baby. I've taken the sound box out and insert my phone playing a white noise app in the pocket instead - it's much more effective.I use this to block out noise if baby needs to sleep. It also helps them drift off if they are tired but not managing to fall asleep. I like the rain setting of all sounds. There's a 23 minute and 45 minute setting. I first thought this product was expensive but it's turned out to be the best product I've brought to help baby sleep. Best of all it's so portable. It took me one month to get to like the product. I didn't think it worked at first but one morning, house was noisy and baby couldn't sleep, 20inutes with sound on and he was fast asleep.This is the second Sleep Sheep On the Go we've had. The first one was a gift and not used much by our first child. The second one we replaced ourselves when the first one stopped working - the internal sound machine went crackly then even in spite of a battery change, stopped working all together. The second one has lasted less than FOUR MONTHS! Our second child now 18 months has particularly LOVED this little sheep and falls asleep every sleep time with one of the sounds on this little sheep going along. He was a reflux baby and so post that trauma this sleep sheep has been wonderful to get him sleeping and the sounds it make triggering an understanding that it's sleep time now. He even presses the buttons in the night if he wakes to turn it back on again to go back to sleep and sometimes sleeps with his head pushed right up against it on the side of the cot as a comfort thing. But it's frustrating beyond words to have a second sleep sheep stop working all together as it's not exactly cheap to replace. If more durable then this would be a 5 star rating.This has soothed 3 of my Grandchildren to sleep when they were babies. The oldest is just coming up to 10 years old. His baby brother is just coming up to 1yr old and he is using it now. Highly recommendedHaving noticed how it settled my 2 week old to ssshhhh in her ear, I started thinking about white noise. I tried it initially on my phone with an app and it worked! If she is in the right sleepy zone ie not overtired then this works when I put my daughter down awake.It does look a bit strange as there is a large plastic sound box sticking out of the back of the sheep, but from the front it looks like a pretty good quality little cuddly sheep.I would recommend trying white noise first to see if it'll work for your little one, the rain works best for us as it's a constant noise. Quite annoying having in on in the background for the adults though!
